Today we thought of publishing some memories of the Sathkara 1st step..

As the first step of the programme, an alms was given as lunch to 60 inmates of the Sunhinda Elder’s Care Centre – Pitakotte. Then a programme followed for the entertainment of the elders. We all sang song, danced, played games and also listened to their life stories. Brother Dilanka Madushan created this video from some remarkable photographs which he took on that day.

Before visiting the Gangodawila Children’s Development Centre for the 2nd step of sathkara programmes we published this video in our Facebook page. And for our surprise financial and non financial donations came flowing with the publicity we got through that. And also on the day of the sathkara 2nd step when we showed this video to the children of the orphanage they started to insist that they also want to visit the Sunhinda Elder’s Home. Keeping that suggestion in mind for a massive sathkara programme in future, we also learnt a huge lesson on what a difference a video can make.

සත්කාර දෙවන පියවර ලෙස අපි ගංගොඩවිල බාලිකා ලමා නිවාසයේ දැරියන් හමුවට යෑමට පෙර මෙම වීඩියෝව පලකිරෙමෙන් අප කෙරෙහි කොපමන පිරිසක් ලැදි වූවාද කියතහොත්, දෙවන පියවර සඳහා අපගේ නිල Facebook පි‍ටුව හරහා මූල්‍ය සහ මූල්‍ය නොවන ආධාර ගලා එන්නට විය. තවද දෙවෙනි සත්කාරය ගංගොඩවිල ළමා නිවාසයේ පැවැත්වෙන විට මෙම වීඩියෝව ප්‍රදර්ශනය කලෙමු. අප මවිතයට පත් කරමින් එහි සිටි දැරිවියෝ “අනේ අක්කේ, අයියේ, ඒ ආච්චිලා සීයලා බලන අපිවත් එක්කන් යන්නකෝ” යනුවෙන් ආයාචනා කලහ. ඉදිරියේ පෙරලිකාර සත්කාර වැඩසටහනකට එයින් අදහසක් ගත් අපි වීඩියෝවකින් කල හැකි දේ පිලිබඳව වැදගත් පාඩමක්ද උගතිමු.
